How biketoberfest works
October is here, and it's the perfect time to get on your bike.
To help get you back in the saddle, BikeHouston is challenging you to ride to four different local breweries in the month of October.
Step 1: Join BikeHouston. (Already a member? Skip to Step 2!)
Step 2: Visit at least four local breweries — by bike — before the end of October.
Step 3: Prove you biked to four different local breweries by taking a photo and posting it on social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or Strava), tagging @BikeHouston, your location, and using the hashtag #BiketoberfestHOU.
Step 4: At the end of the month, send us your proof. Once verified, you’ll receive a limited edition Biketoberfest bottle opener.
JOIN A BIKETOBERFEST RIDE
You can ride on your own, or join us on our next official Biketoberfest ride:
Thursday, October 28 at 4 p.m. - Market Square to Under the Radar Brewery
NO BEER? NO PROBLEM.
For those who prefer not to drink and bike, use this challenge to help you shift your transportation mode norms. Instead of biking to four breweries, ride a bike on at least 15 days in October — whether for fun, or to replace a car trip. Bike to the grocery store, to take the kids to school, visit a friend, take a BCycle for a spin — whatever suits you! Same basic rules as above apply, just without the brewery part.
Participation in Biketoberfest is limited to BikeHouston members. Not a member? Join us at bikehouston.org/membership or join in person at one of our rides. While supplies last, new members who join in person with a contribution of at least $30 will receive a BikeHouston pint glass.
